From a very young age, I discovered that my connection to Spirit was a natural part of who I am, deeply rooted in my Indigenous heritage. As a Coast Salish Native from the Lummi, Nooksack, and Leq’á:mel tribes, I was raised in a culture that embraces the ability to connect with the other side. This gift runs through my family: my mother, and her mother before, both had the ability to see and hear Spirit. I truly believe that these gifts have been lovingly passed down through generations. Growing up, encountering spirits and experiencing the presence of those who have passed on was simply a part of life, a natural extension of our cultural understanding of the world. My elders taught me to honor and trust this connection, and their wisdom has shaped me into the medium I am today. In our culture, the spirit world is not something to be feared, but rather a source of guidance and comfort, and I am grateful to carry that legacy forward.
